EASTER DIY DECOR
Spring is here with all its pastel & floral glory. Here are some chic & simple decor ideas to beautify your home this season. Using ordinary eggs, twigs & colouring, you can easily create artistic decor to cheer up any space in your home. Here are my favourite decor picks for this season.
HOLLOW EGG DECOR
The easiest way to hollow out eggs, involves making two holes on each end of the egg using a long needle and blowing out the inner egg. Endless creative ideas & colours can then be used with these hollow eggs. Use food dyes to create a variety of colours, pastel tones, marble effects or metallic finish. Paint on floral motifs, stripes, polka dots or stick on 'punch out' paper flowers.
EASTER EGG TREE
Bring together a collection of branches from the outdoors and place them into a vase, pot or whatever will compliment your design. Tie your decorated hollow eggshells onto the branches at different heights. This asymmetric arrangement will look perfect as a table centerpiece or as part of a decorative console vignette.
EGGSHELL CANDLEHOLDERS
Transform your creative hollow eggshells into candleholders. Open up one end to form a 'cracked' egg look and place a small tea light in. Place them on egg holders or group them into egg boxes. Add them to your tablescape to create a quirky spring touch.
EGGSHELL VASE
A cracked empty eggshell can be used to carry a variety of blooms. A complimentary group of spring floral or perhaps an aromatic display of grass or herbs. Perfect for any coffee table or raised on a stack of books for added height.
SPRING TOUCH WREATH
Bring together your decorated eggshells and group them around a cardboard circular cutout. Glue them down and add some leaves or twigs for extra texture. This will create an beautiful decoration for an internal or external door. Add a central glass candle lantern to the wreath to create a pretty table centrepiece.
BLOSSOM DINING TOUCHES
A few branches of blossom, really capture the beauty of spring. Line up the length of your dining table with different types of vases that vary in heights and finishes. Add blossom branches or any spring flowers, to create an eclectic tablescape.
